Do you respond  to the test on Face Book that analyze your name? I do, on occasion; sometimes I post them, sometimes I don’t. Yesterday I found that my personal anthem is Stronger by Kelly Clarkson. I’m a fan of Kelly’s and enjoy her music. This particular song express emotions that fit my story.

Chocolate Gravy & Biscuits

This week I dreamed of making my Grandma’s chocolate gravy. I think one of the cousins brought it up on Facebook. I love keeping up with the cousins on-line. After my dream, I woke with the purpose of making that for my breakfast. Martha declined to break her diet plan for the treat. I’m older and I know breaking a plan one meal won’t sideline me forever from getting back on the plan, especially as a diabetic. To blazes with “Nothing tastes as good as being slim.”

Now if you are feeling adventurous and you enjoy chocolate, I posted the recipe for you. Go on enjoy. (Updated link for recipe.)

The Paradoxical Commandments

Dr. Kent Keith  “is a dynamic speaker and writer whose mission is to help people find personal meaning in a crazy world.”

Ronovan shared quotes about respect. I recall it is a character trait that teachers try to instill in our students; self-respect and respect for others.

Aretha sang an unforgettable song about respect. Every one was singing it.

I’ve missed much of the last two weeks because of this critter.
I’m getting better. This is my first time to sit at my computer with
writing on my mind.
I’ll introduce Martha’s two poems first. I haven’t started, but we
have all day.

Milky, creamy, lustrous gem
My mother’s birthstone

Mind the smooth talker
compelling flattery flows
beguiles discernment
These two are my take on the prompt words, milk and smooth.

Martha emailed me these haiku to me yesterday about two of my favorite well loved nieces. Thanks, little sis.

Behold, clear sky and star bright

P.S. Perhaps Martha will write later for me to post. If not, she’ll be back next week.

Peace, Opera

ronovanRonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #81 Trill&Final

Martha is in Florida playing golf with her group, Chicks with Sticks. She missed the snow event in Clarksville.

From Florida by text from Martha, one haiku this week.

palm fronds

Listen. Songbirds trill
Water laps, palm fronds rustle.
Finally, sweet peace.

I’m adjusting to the sleep machine. I’m still in a brain fog because of insomnia. I read in the literature it will take three months to feel a difference.  Perseverance is the key.

la boheme

Beautiful trilling
It’s incontrovertible
Je ne comprends pas
