Snow Suits and Body Heat

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #85 Tight&Warm

Good morning. My first haiku is from a memory of dressing little boys for play in the cold.

Snow Suits

Snow suit for baby
Bundled  to stay warm outside
Too tight for moving

Body Heat

Hug me tight and close
Share your body heat tonight
Snug as bugs in rugs

Love Signs

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #85 Tight&Warm – you  are invited to write by Rononvan Writes.

I’m publishing Martha’s haiku first. I will try to write later after I’ve exercised and exorcised; fit body, fit mind.

Love Signs
Tendons are tightened
Butterflies invade tummy
Face quickly flushes
roseopen rosebud
Taunt flower pedals
forming a perfect rose bud
warmth shows full beauty

I’ve missed much of the last two weeks because of this critter.
I’m getting better. This is my first time to sit at my computer with
writing on my mind.
I’ll introduce Martha’s two poems first. I haven’t started, but we
have all day.

Milky, creamy, lustrous gem
My mother’s birthstone
wolf in sheeps clothing
Mind the smooth talker
compelling flattery flows
beguiles discernment
These two are my take on the prompt words, milk and smooth.

Just like ancient Egyptians
Skin polished and smooth

Martha emailed me these haiku to me yesterday about two of my favorite well loved nieces. Thanks, little sis.

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #77 Year&New

Martha and I are late publishing our haiku, Martha had emailed hers to me on Monday, however, I was preoccupied thinking about Monday night. I spent the night in the Sleep Clinic for the second part of my sleep study. The purpose was to be fitted for a mask to keep my airway open, apnea. It all began when I got a Fitbit. My sleep pattern showed  restlessness up to 25 times a night, and Martha remarked that my memory was getting worse. I’m anxious to get my equipment and experience the benefits!

Let’s see what Martha has for us.

year of the monkey

Year of the monkey
is zodiac schmodiac.
Newness comes each day!
Here’s one for you all who make New Year resolutions.
ant with determination
Lofty ideas
oft fade with the passing year.
Renew ambition.
Meredith will be right back. Let’s see if I have enough of a mind left to compose 2.
I shun New Years Eve
I’m put off by large, loud crowds
A fire, Nick a book

Keep, give away, throw out
Declutter, make way for new
Begin the year free

Play Dead and Symbols – Allies and Invocation

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #71 Cover&Color

Martha and Meredith are happy to contribute to the haiku challenge,

 2 x 2.

My first haiku is dedicated to:

Isobel Bowdery, her Face Book post begins, you never think it will happen to you.bloody shirt

Playing Dead
Guns spray the shocked crowd
Lights give surreal color
Death is your cover
Paris is stained red
covered in innocents’ blood
Let us stand with them
We are allies since 1776
History tells the story
We defend freedom
Lord, blanket the world
with your almighty spirit
Cleanse evil stains

Haiku and Mind

I’m at my desk writing my Monday’s Music when Martha called up to me from her desk that she has emailed her two haikus to me. That is the signal to go to Ronovan’s address to see the prompt words, Haiku and Mind. I don’t read anyone else’s poems lest I “borrow” ideas or be influenced in any way. Now I think and write. I like to write on Poem Syllable Counter.

Anyone can write
If it’s 3 lines of haiku
Mind the syllables
