Day One of Black and White

Maria  has invited me to participate in this Five Day Black and White Photography Challenge.  Imagine a land of exotic creatures and wide beautiful beaches surrounded by three oceans, and that is the home of Maria Brinkley, the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. Maria is a multi-media talented artist who blogs about her painting, sketching, photography, poetry and prose. We met about a year ago in Blogging University #101. Our friendship was instant. We have a partnership in a travel blog that we started together. Please visit her at either site, you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you for inviting me Maria.  I accept the challenge.

There are only two rules for the black and white photography challenge:

1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in black and white.
2. Each day invite another blogging friend to join in the fun.

My nominee for my first day is Melissa aranislandgirl. We are new friends brought together by providence. I loved her story and thus the girl who moved to Ireland. She and her husband own a farm and are working together to build a family business. Her writing is sure to entertain and delight the reader. Melissa, I hope you’ll accept; you’re choice.

Family through time

Leave footprints on heart and mind

Celebrate your kin

If you’ve visited here you might have seen this photo. As you can see I didn’t take this picture, a waitress did. This  is my son and his daughters. He came from California to Tennessee to celebrate Christmas with us. I have another son and a daughter-in-law in California who couldn’t be with us this year. It’s bitter-sweet, one here, two far away. That is the way of this time in history. Our children either stay with us (no work) or move far away (for work.) I’ve learned to be content with visits to California and their visits here. I’ll return this summer for two or three months.
